India is a country of South Asia. It is the seventh largest country by area and with more than 1.3 billion people, this is the second most populous country and the most populous democracy in the world. The Indian Ocean in the south, the Arabian Sea in the southwest and surrounded by the Bay of Bengal in the south-east, it shares the land boundary with Pakistan in the west; China, Nepal and Bhutan in the northeast; And in eastern Bangladesh and Myanmar Indian Ocean,

The Indian subcontinent was the home of the urban Indus Valley civilization of the 3rd millennium BC BC. In the following millennium, the earliest texts associated with Hinduism began to be composed. Social stratification on the basis of caste emerged in the first millennium BC and Buddhism and Jainism emerged.

Early political unification took place under the Maurya and Gupta empires; Later, the Peninsular Middle States influenced the cultures as South East Asia. In the Middle Ages, the advent of Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity and Islam and the rise of Sikhism are all related to the diverse culture of this region.

A nationalist movement emerged in the second half of the 19th century, which later became known for nonviolent resistance under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi and was inspired to India’s independence in 1947.

In 2017, the Indian economy was the world’s sixth largest nominal GDP and purchasing power was the third largest by equality. After the market-based economic reforms in 1991, India became one of the fastest-growing major economies and it is considered a new industrial country. However, it is facing the challenges of poverty, corruption, malnutrition and inadequate public health care.

A nuclear weapon state and regional power, it is the second largest army in the world and one of the five countries in military expenditure. India is a federal republic, which is governed under a parliamentary system and consists of 29 states and 7 union territories. A plural, multilingual and multi-ethnic society, it is home to various types of wildlife in various types of protected habitats.
